Questions

Before you ask.

What Pack3D does and does not do, what it takes and gives back, and what happens to your files. Anything else, ask us.

What does Pack3D do?
You upload a part and choose a printer. Pack3D fills the plate with as many copies of the part as will fit, nested by their full 3D shape rather than the box around them, and hands back a packed 3MF that is ready to slice.
Can I put different parts on one plate?
No. Each job packs one model: Pack3D fills one plate with copies of it. To pack several different parts, upload each as its own job, and each gets its own plate. A 3MF made of several pieces is packed as one unit, the way the pieces sit in the file.
Which files can I upload?
STL and 3MF, up to 50 MB per file. You can drop in many files at once; each becomes its own job in the queue.
Which printers are supported?
Pack3D has printer profiles for Bambu Lab, Prusa, Elegoo, Creality and Snapmaker. Any other printer works as a custom plate up to 500 by 500 mm. A Bambu Studio or OrcaSlicer project names its own printer, and Pack3D packs it for that printer.
What do I get back?
A packed 3MF, with a 2D and a 3D view of the layout to check before you download it. A Bambu Studio or OrcaSlicer project opens back up in the slicer on the plate it came from. Always look over a layout before you print it.
How long does a job take?
Most jobs finish in one to five minutes, depending on the part and the plate. No job runs longer than ten minutes. Jobs run one at a time, so a busy queue adds a wait before yours starts. You can turn on an email for when your jobs finish.
How much space is left between parts?
The clearance you set on each job, 0.2 mm unless you change it. Pack3D keeps it in 3D, under overhangs as well as beside them. A separate edge margin keeps parts away from the plate edge, for a brim or an edge that prints poorly. How parts nest under overhangs
Does Pack3D fit more than my slicer’s auto-arrange?
On our benchmark of 18 parts, each packed on the same plate by Bambu Studio’s auto-arrange and by Pack3D, Pack3D fit more parts on every plate: +51% on average and +29% at the smallest. Every result is published, not just the best ones. See the benchmark
What counts as a job?
One file packed onto one plate is one job. Packing the same file again, with the same settings or new ones, is a new job. A job that fails for a reason on our side does not count. Plans and pricing
What happens to my files?
Your uploaded file is deleted as soon as its job finishes. The packed result stays in your job history until you delete it. Your models are used to compute your layout and nothing else. Privacy policy
Can I run Pack3D on my own servers?
Yes, on the Enterprise plan, by arrangement. The engine then runs on your hardware and your models never leave your network. Talk to us
